Looking for full Time Block Cave Specialist 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the technical services team in the following fields:
    • Development planning
    • Mine Design 
    • Drill & Blast 
    • Ventilation
  • Review of all life of mine schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Ensure legal obligations are being met with regards to mine design, ventilation, drill and blast and document control
  • Act as project manager for a variety of mining related, multi-disciplinary projects 
  • Aid in the assessment of external mining feasibility studies for technical completeness, accuracy and potential pit-falls
  • Coordinate with budget engineer and mine operations to ensure mining needs are captured and properly cost in life of mine plans
  • Promote a culture of teamwork communication and engagement between the technical services team and stakeholders

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years experience in a block caving environment 
  • Diploma or degree in mining or related field 
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of the applicable legislation and regulations for Mines in Canada
  • Experience in using mining software including Deswik
  • Must possess effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making abilities
  • Highly organized self-starter with a proven ability to work independently, prioritize and work under pressure

 

Other Requirements

Candidates will be required to participate in a comprehensive qualification process, including:

  • Completion of pre-placement functional screen
  • Provide proof of a valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Demonstrate eligibility to work in Canada
  • Provide confirmation of valid educational requirements

 

Compensation

The anticipated salary for this position will be between $114,000 to $130,000.  A comprehensive benefits program and performance bonus plan will also be provided. This is not a camp operation and therefore the successful candidate will be required to relocate to the Kamloops area or travel and accommodation will be the responsibility of the successful applicant.
