Looking for Full Time Bus Driver

$32.75 per hour

The Coldwater School is inviting qualified applicants to apply for the position of Bus Driver.

Qualifications 

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
• Must have a valid Class 4 Driver's license and current driver's abstract
• Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy and tact in the routine exchange of information
• Ability to maintain good working relationships with other staff and the public.
• Physical ability to perform the required duties (e.g., lift and carry 50 lbs.)
• ·Working knowledge of materials, equipment, and chemicals used in maintaining cleanliness on the bus
• Experience operating a 25-passenger bus and following all 13 motor vehicle laws and regulation
• Good health and sufficient strength and stamina to perform a variety of routine manual tasks in
• First Aid Certification, WHIMS Certificate. (Or be willing to get
• Transports students to and from school in accordance with defined routes Performs all bus maintenance as required travel logs
• Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary conditi9n,·of the bus.
• Become thoroughly familiar with and follow established procedures for daily, monthly, and annual cleaning duties.
• Responsible for .the care of tools, equipment, and materials used, and for leaving the worksite in a safe condition.                                                                            •
• Responsible for ensuring the bus is in a secure condition when leaving. Scheduling routine repairs and inspections.
• Reports maintenance problems to the principal.
• Performs other duties necessarily incidental to those assigned above.

Preference will be given to those applicants who:

• Have a minimum of two years of experience
• have Aboriginal ancestry (as per Special Program with the BC Human Rights Tribunal)
