Looking for Lunch Cook

$19 an hour – On Call, Part time

Responsibilities

Work with hot lunch cooks in the safe, proper, and most efficient use and care of all kitchen equipment.
2. Maintain highest standard of safety and cleanliness in all areas used in conjunction with the lunch program.
3. Check food shipments into the school and bring into and use in the cooking program
4. Plan menus in advance and submit in a timely manner.
5. Determine the quantity of food to be prepared daily, as determined by portion size and participation to minimize waste.
6. Plans cost effective meals and makes economical purchases of foods and supplies.
7. Prepares food and determines if the finished product is of the best quality in flavor and appearance before it is served.
8. Plans attractive, nutritious meals and works to increase introduction of new foods to students.
9. Keeps accurate daily/monthly records for menu production, lunch and snack control sheets, inventory, etc.
10. Daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment, as well as the washing and sterilizing of all dishes, silverware, pans, etc.
11. Reports any accident occurring in the food services area.
12. Confers with the Principal regarding personnel matters, menus, repairs, budget, etc.

• Organized
• Displays initiative in work, starts jobs without being told
• Food Safe Certificate
• Attitude, interest in work, accepts suggestions
• Courteous, cooperative and communicative
• Must pass a Criminal Records Check
