Looking for Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator (Level 1)
$32.71 an hour – Full Time
Responsibilities
- Level I Water and Wastewater Operators ensure operations comply with the City’s expectations and the Federal and Provincial environmental standards and regulations.
- Performing highly skilled operational and maintenance work of a complex nature such as inspecting equipment, servicing equipment, carrying out preventative maintenance and ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- Operators are also required to attend some after-hour emergencies, work weekends within a rotating schedule, and be available to work on call on a rotating schedule.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications
- Spatial ability, manual dexterity, and mechanical ability
- Proficient computer skills, including using Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), SCADA System and HMI System
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Physically able to carry out the duties of the position
- 1 years experience in wastewater collection and water treatment
- 1 years experience in water distribution and wastewater treatment
- Air brake endorsement
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- Confined Space Certification
