Local Area Coordinator

$1,000-$3,000 a month – Part Time Casual

Responsibilities

• Welcome Newcomers: Act as a primary point of contact for newcomers to the area, providing them with valuable information about local services, amenities, and businesses.
• Engage with Local Businesses: Build strong relationships with local businesses to help newcomers discover the best services and products available in their new community.
• Organize Community Events: Plan and coordinate events that foster community spirit, encourage local business involvement, and integrate newcomers into their new community..
• Promote Local Partnerships: Work with local organizations, businesses, and residents to create opportunities for collaboration and growth, fostering a thriving community.
• Provide Support and Resources: Offer guidance and resources to help newcomers settle in, including community orientation, cultural support, and networking opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for building community.
• Experience in community engagement, event planning, or working with local businesses.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Knowledge of the local area, including key resources, services, and businesses (ideal but not required).
• A positive attitude, problem-solving mindset, and the ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment
