Looking for Invasive Plant Control Technician

From $23 an hour – Full Time, Seasonal

Responsibilities

• Controlling invasive plants by pulling, cutting, and/or spraying in gravel pits, alongside roadways and on the Trans Mountain Pipeline.
• Controlling mosquitoes in their larval stages by spreading a biological larvicide (Vectobac 200G or Aquabac 200G) with the active ingredient Bacillus thuringiensis var israelensis.
• Providing helicopter support for mosquito larviciding (loading 18 kg bags into a seeder).
• Assisting with hydroseeding applications

Requirements

• Good knowledge of invasive plant species, mosquito life cycle, herbicides, and mosquito larvicides is an asset.
• Experience driving pickup trucks, towing trailers and/or driving UTVs is also an asset.
• Must own a computer and a cell phone and have access to email.
• Class 7N driver’s License (Class 5 is preferred) and should be prepared to bring a driving record.
