Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate emergency response efforts during critical incidents, ensuring swift and effective action.
• Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans tailored to the needs of Indigenous communities.
• Work in collaboration with Indigenous leadership, local agencies, and emergency response teams to ensure culturally appropriate services.
• Provide guidance and support to community members during crises, offering practical assistance and emotional support.
• Maintain and manage emergency response equipment, resources, and supplies.
• Facilitate training for community members and partners to enhance preparedness for various emergencies (natural disasters, health crises, etc.).
• Monitor and evaluate response strategies, making recommendations for improvement based on community feedback and lessons learned.
• Stay current on local regulations, disaster management protocols, and best practices in emergency response.
