Looking for Safety Advisor

$80,000-$100,000 a year – Full Time

Job Summary

The Safety Advisor will report to the HSE/HR Manager and act as the company’s primary safety representative on their assigned sites. The Safety Advisor will be responsible for identifying and controlling potential health and safety hazards related to all contracts in accordance with applicable safety laws in British Columbia. The Safety Advisor ensures that our workers are following established policies and safety regulations including those outlined in our Occupational Health & Safety Management System.

Qualifications

• Current CSO or NCSO designation, (COHS designation Preferred)
• Extensive knowledgeable of legislative requirements for WorkSafeBC and the Health, Safety and Reclamation Code for Mines in British Columbia
• At least one year of experience in a health and safety role in the province of British Columbia within the last 3 years
• 2?years hands?on Safety experience in the construction industry with preference to civil construction and mining
• Post?secondary education in administration, business, construction related trades or healthcare is an asset
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power?point, Outlook)
• Experience in large scale earthworks, underground pipe works, and earth?fill/sand cell dam experience an asset
• Proven working experience in technical writing of Health and Safety
