Looking for Accountant

$50,000-$60,000 a year – Full Time

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and ensure monthly reconciliations are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist in various aspects of the month-end closing process, including preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling key accounts, and managing the journal entry schedule.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of fixed assets, including capitalization, reclassification, depreciation, impairments, and disposals.
  • Prepare reports related to accruals and prepayments, ensuring accuracy in reconciliations and supporting smooth month-end close.
  • Prepare and process governmental remittances, including PST, GST, EHT, WSIB and payroll tax submissions in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Handle accounts receivable/payable functions, including generating and posting invoices, processing deposits, updating customer statements, and overseeing collection efforts.
  • Conduct detailed reconciliations of financial accounts, including accounts payable, prepaid expenses, and other key financial areas, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial policies.
  • Support month-end and year-end close procedures to ensure timely reporting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly skilled in math, accounting, and financial processes.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and relevant regulations, including government remittances.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
